So this post is just a bit late and the red eyes were not removed, but here it is. We had a wonderful day at church and rejoicing with family. Of course Henry and Claire also enjoyed their Easter baskets (from many family members) and the fantastic egg hunt at Pop-Pop's house.

last minute getaway
What a wonderful weekend we had! My sister called and asked us if we would like to go to Nags Head for a long weekend and the answer was an emphatic, yes! My sister and her husband, my niece and mom all came down, so I was actually able to relax and not worry about the kids. Chris came down on Saturday which happened to be the most beautiful day. We relaxed, shopped, looked for shells and relaxed some more. Claire met the cutest little boy named Scott and told me she really missed him when we got home. It was absolutely wonderful and I can't wait for our next adventure. Thanks "Auntie Geg" and Uncle Alan-we love you!!

Spring Program
Claire had her spring program on Thursday and it was so cute. This was the third program of the year and the first time she was actually a willing participant-we were so proud of her. Claire is very blessed with a sweet class and absolutely wonderful teachers.

Chris with the kids on his actual birthdayI am not very good about posting the "big things" as it seems a bit overwhelming. Having said that, we had some very big birthdays in our house last month. My wonderful husband turned 40 on March 6th and my sweet baby boy turned 2 on March 8th. Needless to say it was a very crazy week around here. We had a surprise party to celebrate the big 40 at my sister's and then celebrated Henry's on Sunday. I really cannot believe that my little baby is no longer a baby at all. It seems like just yesterday we were getting ready to welcome him into our lives. I am so blessed with an awesome family-I love them so much!!!!

Bird Nests

Today Henry was still not feeling well, so we decided to stay home (again). Since we could not go anywhere, the next best thing would be chocolate of course. First we made chocolate bird nests and filled them with jellybeans. Then we read The Best Nest while our chocolate hardened. Finally we were able to enjoy our yummy creations. I also decided we needed a day without television, so it has been a wonderfully productive yet quiet morning. I am so ready for spring and these nests gave us a little snipet of the wonderfully refreshing things ahead (it really does not take much).

mud
After Henry's nap, we went for a walk and then I decided to do some planting/digging. Claire and Henry starting off helping and then they found something much more exciting-mud! After all of the rain, our backyard is like a lake. At first it was just a little splash and it rapidly become stomping and yes, sitting. I decided worse things could happen and gave them their second bath of the day.

No Way!
My sweet little boy who just turned 2 on Sunday has a new favorite saying. It literally happened the day after his birthday. Henry do you want to sit on the potty? "No way!" Henry, it's time to go now- "No way!" Henry, you need to wash your hands for dinner- "No way."
Henry was very quiet for too long, so I went into the kitchen to check on him. He is kindly showing me the marker he used to draw on his face and the wall.
